Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how WispResume ("WispResume", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and resume-building service (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text).
- Google sign-in — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name and verified email address. We do not receive your Google password.
- Resume content — the information you enter into your resumes (work history, education, skills, projects, contact details, etc.), stored so we can display and export your resumes.
- Payment records — when you purchase Pro, we store a record of the transaction (payment identifier, amount, status). We do not collect or store your card or bank details.
- Technical data — basic request logs (e.g. IP address, timestamps, error logs) needed to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To save, display, and export your resumes.
- To process your Pro subscription and provide access to paid features.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information or your resume content.
3. Cookies
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (a session token). This is required for the Service to function and is not used for advertising. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
4. Analytics
We do not currently use third-party analytics or tracking tools. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent before enabling any such tool.
5. Authentication provider
We use Google Sign-In as an optional authentication provider. When you choose to sign in with Google, your name and verified email address are shared with us, subject to Google's own Privacy Policy.
6. Payment processor
Payments for Pro subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. When you pay, your card/bank/UPI details are entered directly with Dodo Payments and are not shared with or stored by us — we only receive a payment confirmation and reference ID. Dodo Payments' handling of your payment data is governed by Dodo Payments' Privacy Policy.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing wispresume@gmail.com. We may retain certain transaction records for longer where required by law (e.g. tax/accounting obligations).
8. Your rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the email below and we will respond promptly.
9. Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use signed tokens, and access to your resumes is restricted to your account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
